Matthew's Sweater

Here's the progress of Matthew's sweater. It's a Michael Kors pattern from Vogue Knitting Magazine. Matthew picked the pattern and colors (chocolate brown and cream.) It's knit in Peruvian Highland Chunky. Nice stuff!

He has been instructed in the care and washing of such a sweater so that it doesn't end up fitting the dog, instead of him.

Amarillis

Hey Shaw Girls!!

Thank-you for the birthday card, Hannah!

My amarillis is beautiful, but has not bloomed yet. I find that humorous - the gift that keeps on giving....

On another note, Mike accepted a job near Helena Montana, which is about 3 hours from Kalispell. For now, he has a small apartment. I am looking for a job and will join him when I get one. Then, sell the house, move the cat, etc. etc....

So, I'm not teaching skiing anymore, but am still invited to take the certification course in March. I hope to teach in our new area.

I am going to Canada to ski for 2 days next week. One day at Kimberly and one day at Fernie. Look it up when you have time. It has been snowing here, so I am hoping for good conditions.

Love, Rebecca

Here's My Amaryllis!

Here's our lovely orange amaryllis, with more blooms to yet open!
What does yours look like? Do we all have the same flower? Mine are in a woven basket.
I'd love to see everyone else's...

Snowplows: Up Close and Too Personal!

We give thanks to God that Rick walked away from Saturday's accident without as much as a stiff neck. A county snowplow, believing that stop signs don't apply to plows, T-boned our van. Rick was on his way to pick up our family of ski-instructors at the Peek.

Cindy, our beloved van, who faithfully drove me through 2 college degrees, and several family vacations packed to the gill, is toast. We salute her steadfastness, and Rick's defensive driving skills.

January Stuff

Just a couple of January highlights:

Here's Katie, in action with her french horn, playing with her middle school band in the Winter Concert.
And here's Matthew at a swim meet, competing in the 100 freestyle. This is his favorite event, and he's placed first several times. He also competes in back stoke.

Also of note, we celebrated our 28th anniversary this month and had a wonderful celebration!

Happy Winter!

Graduation, Finally!

On December 10th, I recieved my Masters of Education degree from Gannon University.

Sue Recieves Her Diploma!

Two highpoints were: #1 - the Bishop asking all the graduates to stand during baccalureate to bless "these fine young men and women about to enbark on their adult professional lives" and #2 - the president of the university, when looking over our family, congratulating Katie on her achievements!

Of course the top highpoint was putting on the masters' hood and chanting to myself "I'm doneI'm doneI'm doneI'm doneI'm done..."
