Our Swedish Indian
Matthew is a lodge member of the Order of the Arrow, a honor society within Boy Scouts. He was recently part of an eagle ceremony for his fellow member, Patrick.
(Matthew's the one with a flag pole growing out of his head.)
His outfit is based on the Seneca Indians.
Matthew made his head dress.
It's called a gestowah. He started the wooden crown part at Michigan State this summer, when he attended the National Order of the Arrow Conference. The feathers are local. I donated the tail feather from my oboe cleaning stash. You should have seen his room after he pulled apart the 2 turkey wings so he could sew on the feathers!
All photos by photographer BetterKeepTheDayJobSue using her new digital birthday camera.
